That is the way they seem to work' Some got better results by doing a good tuneup on the engine. May be running under-powered, being sensed by the transmission, causing a downshift, usually to the lowest gear. Might try that--, new plugs, injector cleaner in tank and check for weak spark wires. If they leak ,can be seen by opening hood at night and looking for shorting to block, or shroud. Good Luck.

One of the things to check is the rear wheel bearings and brake drag. When they are going out it feels like a head wind needing more and more power.

My 3.3L S-works does the same thing. I think this is normal for a drivetrain that was setup for a 3,500lb. car which is now pulling a 6,000Lb. camper. I've put about 5K miles on mine since I converted it and so far so good. I have added an extra oil cooler for the transmission from a (90's) Jeep Grand Cherokee/w tow package set up. Don't forget that like the original LeSharo this transaxle has a separate housing for the final drive so before hitting the open road be sure to have both levels checked. Happy Trails. thank you ,Yes I just read about the separate transmission oil ,and was surprised it only held about a qt ....I have added about 30 K on my rig since the conversion , but it may be less .. why ? I noticed a while back while at a stop that the digital speed om would continue to add Miles on the meter , perplexed I changed the speed sensor on the transmission and the other sensor as well , only to have it continue to add Miles at every stop.. I finally remembered something about the OLD Renault system and I was right .... BAD GROUNDS.. I found a cluster of them that had become loose on the fire wall ,even with a lock washer on them ... after thighen them down all was back to normal... I don't know how many Miles was added to the speedometer....but it is now Fine. My rig was converted in 2002 by S works , but it has been Years since I have used it , due to illness (wife) only recently have I gotten renewed interest ,, I noticed these forums are getting sparse as well ... Hope all is well .
