88 gm conversion - engine coolent issue

Unread postby manishspatel » Sat Jun 29, 2019 4:40 pm

All,

Happy Summer days. Just got call from my mechanic shop regarding engine running hot when idle. As some of you suggested the engine fan is not kicking in. The shop confirmed the issue and also indicated that my Lesharo with Pontiac v6 coolant system is isolated, not providing coolness to GM 3800 engine.
What you think is main suspect? I think it's water pump but would love to get your expert suggestions on where to look.

Hey Wigen,

Issue confirmation: TBD. shop is flushing radiator fluid and conduct additional tests. will check hoses and thermostat here as well.

Yes, as far isolation engine or computer has no way knowing of radiator fan and coolant system malfunction.

Fan operation not confirmed at any temp so far. TBD..

Put a jumper on and get the fans running! better to let them run continuously then not at all.
