Looking for tips on changing timing belt, do i need the special tool, is replacing water pump a must?

If you have no maintenance history, if you don't know how old the water pump is, if you travel in unfamiliar areas away from repair facilities, Remember there are no Renault and Winnebago service places out there. Replace your water pump, then you won't have to worry about it as you travel, probably for as long as you own your coach.

I replaced mine when I bought my coach ( at 51,000 miles), I think it was under $50 at RockAuto. If your pump fails on your trip to the hinterlands, it probably means serious harm to your engine, an engine quite sensitive to overheating, travel interruption, and much more expense than just replacing the pump at home, done before your trip. The peace of mind is an extra benefit.
