Relays under dash ID??

Unread postby tsongololo » Tue Oct 05, 2021 8:16 pm

Does anyone know what the function of the relays are behind the dash?

I have six circled, and I'm not even sure where the one on the top right even goes, but it does have two nice nutplates to secure it *somewhere*. No I didn't take that one out. It was just dangling there, saying hi.

Uh... Wow... just Wow....

I though under my dash was spaghetti... At least you're is not as dark and grimy.

The little blue one on the lower right I think is the "trailer adapter" from running the tail lights.
The larger blue one I think might be the cruse control.

I, having an older Turbo Diesel, my under dash is very different.

You definitely need to Divide and Conquer there. Process of elimination.

Turning the car on and off to see what clicks (felt while touching) might give you more info. Typically example, the fuel pump relay click on with ignition, and then off a few seconds later without the engine running. Engine fans go on with a hot engine, or the AC,
And of courses, Headlight relays go with, well the headlights <G>

My not having a Gas Lesharo isn't much help. It would be easier if I was there.

PM me if you think I could help.

I figured out a few -
The large blue one is (should be?) the chime. I guess seatbelt & temperature warnings?
The other blue one is the windshield wiper relay.
One of the two little black ones on the left, with the white plugs, is either oil or coolant temperature, I forget right now.
Labeling as I go.

Still no idea what the large gray one is. It has a hole labeled "centering" or something like that.
